Kenneth Sylvester
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Sylvester was appointed Chief Executive Officer at CKLN since 2004 and has led the development of the CKLN and the C@ribNET infrastructure for Research and Education Network.

Mr. Kenneth Sylvester’s business career began when he joined Fugitsu-ICL, a leading international computer company in 1974 as a graduate management trainee in the United kingdom. During his twenty-three years tenure with the company held several managerial positions in East Africa, USA and the Caribbean.

Mr. Sylvester held several managerial appointments including Director of ICT at the UWI, Advisor to the Government of Jamaica and Grenada on National ICT Policies and Strategies, served as Chairman of the CARICOM ICT Steering Committee responsible for ICT4D for the Caribbean Region and the achievement of the WISIS Target by 2015.

Mr. Sylvester attended the University of Leeds in the UK where he achieved an Honours degree in Physics, with two years’ postgraduate work in Quantum Physics.

Anthony Sylvester
Finance and Administration Manager

Mr. Anthony Sylvester has been engaged with CKLN since May 2008 in the capacity of Finance and Administration Manager. An associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Mr. Sylvester also holds a BSc in Industrial Management from the University of the West Indies and an MBA from the Arthur Lok Jack (UWI) Graduate School of Business.

Mr. Sylvester has vast experience with government administrative and accounting policies and procedures and has served in senior positions in both the public and private sectors. He is well versed in Project Accounting having worked on several government and nongovernmental projects funded by International Agencies in Trinidad, Dominica and now Grenada. He has considerable experience in accounting systems designs and implementation and managing systems implementation and conversion processes. He has also served as a consultant and trainer in the field of Project Accounting. 

Colleen Wint
Communications and International Relations Manager

Colleen Wint is an experienced Caribbean communications practitioner. Her specialist areas are communications, international relations, development and media production with several years of experience in consulting, management and advocacy project work, primarily in the Caribbean, focusing on family development, disability, ICT-for-Development and environmental issues.

Ms. Wint joined the staff of the Caribbean Knowledge and Learning Network (CKLN) in 2011.

She holds a BSc. in Social Administration from the University of the West Indies and a Masters in Communication from the New School in New York, USA.

Eriko Porto
Technical Manager

Mr. Porto has been working for CKLN since April 2010 heading the Network Engineering & Operations of C@ribNET – The Caribbean Research and Education Network. The focus of his work is to coordinate the implementation and development of the network and associated services.

Before his engagement with CKLN, Mr. Porto worked for the Brazilian Research & Education Network (RNP) as Network Engineering Manager, and during this period drove the design and implementation of the Latin American R&E Network – RedCLARA.

Mr. Porto has a Bachelor Degree in Electronic Engineering, Master of Technology Degree in Computer Networks, Master of Technology Degree in Internet Technology and Network Management, and M.Sc. Degree in Telecommunications Engineering. Mr. Porto also has considerable knowledge and experience in Networking and Network Security from previous jobs in ICT project development.

The CKLN BOARD OF DIRECTORS comprises government nominated representatives of emerging national research and education networks (NRENs) and of other institutions.
